In Covent Garden´s infamous public square sits 1 The Piazza. For the very first time, and especially for the Design Festival, the statuesque building will be transformed into a gallery space. Set over three seperate floors, a number of exciting design exhibitions will be housed in this dramatic space. Casa Decor Loft

Casa Decor kicks off in London with Casa Decor Loft, an exciting preview installation providing an insight into one of the world´s most innovative design shows, previously staged in cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Buenos Aires and Mexico city. Casa Decor´s concept is to work with a range of architects transforming entire buildings, creating a unique and stimulating range of domestic spaces as a journey to engage visitors. Accompanied by a series of architectural concepts, Casa Decor has been produced in association with Slam architects.

Goldsmiths - University of London - MA in Design

Goldsmiths' MA in Design Critical Practice and Research programmes explores the relationship between design theory and practice and emphasises design´s potential to generate future possibilities, and open up new argments. This exciting exhibition of work embraces most disciplines uncluding product, furniture, graphics and interactive design, presenting finished objects , speculations, posters, drawings and crictical writing. Students engage with philosophical enquiry, emergent technologies and notions of sustainability, as well as discourses from architctures, sociology, economics, literary theory, archaeology, anthropology, ethics and semiotics.

Art Vinyl: De Face Value exhibition

Children in Hunger, the international development charity, has formed a creative partnership with Hackney business Art Vinyl in a unique venture to help raise £50,000 for the charity's 2007 urgent appeal. Together they approached scores of well-known musicians and celebrities including Tracey Emin, Fat Boy Slim and Robert Plant, asking them to create depictions of themselves using images from one of Phil Collins' best selling albums including Face Value and No Jacket Required. Collins is one of Children in Hunger's key appeal patrons. Their artistically enbellished album covers have been brought together in this unique exhibition.

Smirk - SIMPLICITY all-glass public seating by Enio Arosio

 SIMPLICITY is a collection of designs for glass created by designer Enio Arosio for the firm Santambrogiomilano. Following Arosio´s 2004 all-glass kitchen, it now embraces all areas of the house, public spaces, offices and hotels. His pure structural glass forms, free of the need of supporting elements, meet the most severe safety requirements. Fouder Carlo Santambrogio has also worked with AG Fronzoni, Carlo Scarpa and Claudio Silvestrin. Smirk Ltd, retailers of kitchen and bathroom products, show new all-glass public seating by Arosio from SIMPLICITY collection outdoors in Covent Garden. Visitors can also try it out at 100% Design where it´s being used for pblic seating, and Smirk has a stand.
