In 2010, we are excited to have forged a charitable partnership with Crisis the national charity for single homeless people. Their work is dedicated to ending homelessness by delivering life-changing services and campaigning for change.
Their innovative education, employment, housing and well-being services address individual needs and help homeless people to transform their lives.
And with this in mind, we launch this years competition brief entitled 'More Than a Roof', with a focus on London's Hidden Homeless, designed to encourage the young designers to explore the themes of homelessness, and the effects it has on society.
The competition is open to current students and 2010 graduates and offers the opportunity for 10 selected finalists to showcase a capsule collection, designed to the brief at the event during London Fashion Week. The winning designer will receive a cash prize from sponsors Little Hands Design, and also ongoing support which includes showcasing for two more seasons during London Fashion Week.
Last years winning designer was 15 year old Tarell McIntosh who returns in September to showcase a new collection.
