Achille Salvagni looks towards East Asia, more specifically Japan, as inspiration for his latest gallery show, Kyoto, which opens at the Atelier on the 16th September and will run through until the 12th January.

Achille Salvagni Atelier is pleased to participate for the first time in London Design Festival this September. Spanning the duration of the festival Achille Salvagni Atelier will present a new selection of limited edition furniture and lighting pieces designed for the occasion.

The Atelier draws from a selection of Salvagni’s iconic pieces and places them in an intimate domestic environment allowing collectors and design aficionados to experience in person the uncompromising craftsmanship that goes into each work. Using only the noblest materials the works are realised by Rome’s rich collection of skilled artisans renowned for their traditional techniques found in the Vatican City and amongst the cabinet makers of the Quirinal Palace.

In parallel to this, Achille Salvagni Atelier will exhibit a capsule collection of dinner and dessert plates in collaboration with the French manufacture Maison J.L Coquet. This capsule collection, designed by Achille Salvagni and inspired by the ancient civilisations of Rome and Lutetia, integrates the classic design of Coquet’s Hemisphere line with the rich colors and organic shapes that characterise Salvagni's work.

The Atelier will take part in the Mayfair Design District’s late night opening on Monday 18th September.

Achille Salvagni Atelier

Achille Salvagni was born in Rome in 1970. In 2002, he founded Achille Salvagni Architetti and has gained worldwide recognition for his award-winning luxury residences and super-yachts. In 2013, alongside his architectural practice, he founded Achille Salvagni Atelier, a studio devoted to the production of his limited-edition furniture and lighting. Following the success of the Atelier in both Italy and the USA, Salvagni opened Achille Salvagni Atelier at 12 Grafton Street in Mayfair to showcase his latest creations. The London Atelier draws from a selection of Salvagni’s iconic pieces and places them in an intimate domestic environment allowing collectors and design aficionados to experience in person the uncompromising craftsmanship that goes into each work. Using only the noblest materials; mahogany, rosewood, royal oak, laurel, onyx, bronze and gold to name just some, the works are realised by Rome’s rich collection of skilled artisans renowned for their traditional techniques found in the Vatican City and amongst the cabinet makers of the Quirinal Palace. Continuing this legacy, even the smallest details of the Atelier’s works are the result of an exacting attention to detail, scrupulous craftsmanship and historical reflection, from the patina selection through to custom door handles and hinges. With a couturier’s approach to design, Salvagni is dedicated to retaining authentic touches in his contemporary offering, bringing the decorative grandeur of the Roman Empire into wholly modern pieces.
