Livesey Exchange is a grassroots project initiated by Nicholas Okwulu with the aim of transforming 60 garages encompassing a space of 1400m2 on the Ledbury Estate into workshops, studios and multidiscplinary spaces, training and multifunctional programmes.
Livesey Exchange (LEX) is a grassroots project initiated by Nicholas Okwulu to transform 60 garages on the Ledbury Estate into workshops, studios and multidisciplinary spaces. Due to changes in building regulations the LEX project will occupy a new home in 2021.
A new double storey building, close to the garages on the corner of St James Rd, Old Kent Rd will be constructed in 2021 to house the LEX. The new LEX building will be an important new piece of social infrastructure and through its mix of accessible social, cultural and community space it will serve to support the local community as the neighbourhood undergoes major regeneration.
LEX garages will be hosting a number of artists as part of the 2020 LDF Peckham design trail including Girls about Peckham, Daniel Oduntan, ChromaYoga, Bri Peprah Designs, The CrazyCoolSexy, Sculptures by Roland Lawar, Conceptual artist Jade Chorkularb, DAPS, All Ears Studios, Sculptor & painter Ali Mousawi, GeoD by Samantha-J, Ilayda Bakare and many more.
