#Archisinal
A new breed of architecture competition is set to launch on Polkadot based platform 'Archisinal' early in 2025. Archisinal has partnered with the Blockchain, Web3 and AI Lab at the University of Buenos Aires to launch a global architecture competition exploring fairer methods of remunerating participants.
Architecture competitions often face significant challenges that can undermine their effectiveness and fairness. The integration of blockchain technology addresses many of these issues. In a strategic partnership with the University of Buenos Aires, Archisinal is piloting its platform through a groundbreaking global architecture competition to demonstrate this innovative approach. To stay updated, scan the QR code in the image and join our virtual Q&A. Following the initial pilot program, Archisinal aims to be adopted by both public and private institutions worldwide, revolutionising the way we interact with the built environment. The University of Buenos Aires (UBA), despite being free to attend, is one of the top-performing universities in Latin America. It boasts a strong community where alumni often return to provide lectures free of charge. However, many of the university's facilities are in dire need of renovation, and government support for such projects is limited. The initial competition focuses on renovating the facilities at the Faculty of Law, transforming the learning environment into a smart classroom. Participants will upload their design work to the Archisinal platform, following the competition brief (to be announced). The general public and interested parties will have the opportunity to purchase submitted designs through the platform, potentially owning a digital twin representing a historic moment for both the City of Buenos Aires and the application of blockchain technology in traditional industries. Judging will be conducted transparently through the platform, with prizes ranging from blockchain diploma scholarships, to the implementation of the winning design. Even non-winning participants will have the ability to earn rewards for their submissions via community votes. Archisinal’s focus is to enable developers and collaborating parties to easily monitor and interact with project progress with full transparency, aiding accountability, transparency and dispute resolution in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. By building a transparent data dashboard and validation system, fragmentation is reduced by standardising project data and providing a transparent record of project activity that can be queried at any time. By hosting all pertinent project data and sign-offs in one location, blockchain infrastructure will provide an immutable ledger of events, saving large amounts of time and costs for developers. Going forward Archisinal will facilitate token based community voting for dispute resolution. The goal of this project is to use blockchain technology to minimise the amount of time spent on non-optimal practices in AEC.
