The Chocolate Factory N16 is home to 27 studios of creatives. For the festival, visit this unique community of artists, designers and makers set within a beautiful studio complex. A select group of studios will be opening their doors to the public, demonstrating their practice and offering work for sale.
The Chocolate Factory building is well worth a visit for its architectural ingenuity. A wonderful combination of renovation and new build, designed around an original Victorian cobbled courtyard. Established by founder and painter, Keith Ashley, together with his wife Jill, they have nurtured and protected this valuable community of creativity over the last 30 years! Our select group is here to welcome you through its gates and give you a taste of our regular open studio event to be held later in the year. Participating studios: Joely Clinkard G5 - ceramics Elizabeth Jackson G5 - ceramics Drawing as Design for Clay - Drop in workshops in G5 exploring drawing as a design tool for surface and form. Alongside ceramic work for sale. Helen Rawlinson F5 - textile design and screen printing workshops. Helen will be giving screen print demonstrations throughout the weekend with the opportunity to design and pull your own print onto fabric (bring your own white t-shirt. Tote bags or kids t-shirts can be purchased on the day) Lampshades, tea towels, cushions and accessories will also be on sale from her pattern filled studio. Regular beginner workshops and gift vouchers can be booked via www.helenrawlinson.com - for individuals or small groups up to 6 people. Follow on Instagram @helenrawlinson and @screenprintn16 Lydia Bauman F9 - mixed media artist Lydia will be talking about her work and inspirations and demonstrating some of her unconventional mixed media techniques. Paintings, prints cards and more will be available to purchase throughout the weekend all taken from Lydia’s passion for landscape painting.
