Design for social innovation often centres western perspectives, but globally there are many designers working to shift this tendency. Join the RSA Student Design Awards in conversation with Lesley-Ann Noel on the exciting work being done across the Americas and the value of multiple global perspectives.
Lesley-Ann Noel, is a designer, educator and creator of the Designer’s Critical Alphabet. Learn about her work across the America’s, in Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago and the US, how she strives to centre the perspectives of those traditionally excluded from design-based learning and the importance of pluriversality, honouring multiple valid ways of knowing and doing. The RSA Student Design Awards is an open innovation competition for emerging designers that’s been running since 1924. The team will update on their continued journey to build a more equitable, global competition, the challenges they have encountered and opportunities that lie ahead. The conversation will be followed by a Q&A.
