STORE x Ercol Summer School guided by product designers Stine Keinicke and Liang-Jung Chen. They will collaborate with Blackhorse Workshop and furniture company Ercol, combining a factory visit to collect rejects from the Ercol production to upcycle presenting in the window display of the Salvation Army on Forest Road.
Ercol is the name of a British furniture manufacturer. The firm dates back to 1920, when it was established in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, as Furniture Industries by Lucian Ercolani. STORE drives social change by enabling public access to art and design. We are an association of artists, architects, and designers working from locations between London and Rotterdam. STORE comprise three core elements: an educational programme, socially engaged practice and diverse public events. Blackhorse Workshop is a public space dedicated to making and mending, Blackhorse Workshop was founded by the architecture and design practice Assemble, and has been developed by its Creative Director, Harriet Warden together with the founding team of Toby Poolman, Rob Shaer and Sara Pereira. The project originally received start up support from the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund, the London Borough of Waltham Forest and match funding from Create, Legacy Trust UK and Arts Council England.
