Discover the intersection of design, narrative, and social justice at 'Evolving Stories', an exhibition by the CCW Design School (UAL) featuring 12 projects exploring climate justice, social isolation, ecological awareness, and cultural dialogue. Engage with captivating installations to see how design inspires change.

Discover the intersection of design, narrative, and social justice at "Evolving Stories," an innovative exhibition presented by the CCW Design School (University of the Arts London). This showcase brings together twelve projects from four UAL courses, each demonstrating how design can narrate compelling stories and inspire meaningful change. "Evolving Stories" delves into critical social, ecological, and political issues, pushing the boundaries of traditional design methodologies. The exhibition highlights the collaborative efforts of students, staff, and experts, addressing themes such as climate justice, social isolation, ecological awareness, and cultural dialogue. Each project emphasises the importance of community engagement and interdisciplinary approaches in crafting solutions to contemporary challenges. Visitors will encounter projects that explore feminist storytelling for climate justice using digital knitting and augmented reality, as well as initiatives that reimagine public toilets to highlight their social and political significance. The exhibition also includes projects that create learning tools incorporating other organisms, fostering environmental literacy and mental well-being among children, and urban habitats that encourage multi-species engagement and ecological connectivity. Other projects address social isolation through workshops that galvanise collective action and community representation, while others facilitate cross-cultural and intergenerational dialogue through mindful making. Innovative methods for improving patient-clinician communication are showcased, with tools that externalise pain into physical forms, enhancing empathy and pain assessment. Additionally, the exhibition features gamification to revitalise traditional crafts, engaging tourists and supporting local artisans. Trauma-informed design initiatives aim to strengthen support networks for those facing poverty. At "Evolving Stories," engage with thought-provoking installations, interactive elements, and immersive storytelling. Witness how design can bridge gaps, challenge societal norms, and create a more connected, compassionate world.
