Excelsior Studios: Open Studios, Second Shift Exhibition + Manufactory Talks

Excelsior Studios opens its doors for Manufactory 2026, offering a rare opportunity to step inside one of Park Royal’s largest creative studio communities and discover the artists, designers and makers working here. Across two days, visitors can explore the building, meet its resident creatives and encounter work spanning art, design and making as part of Manufactory — Park Royal Design District’s festival of interdisciplinary art and culture. Alongside Open Studios, Excelsior will host Second Shift, a group exhibition bringing together Matthew Black, Regan Boyce, Brooke Fitzsimons, Maria Gonzalez, Harry Hancock, Luca Levai, Dorothea Magonet and Erin Van de Graff. Responding to overlooked materials gathered from Park Royal’s streets, yards and workshops, the artists explore the histories of manufacture, labour and use embedded within the area’s industrial remnants, transforming them through their individual practices. Set within a former industrial building in the heart of Park Royal, Excelsior is home to a diverse community of artists, designers, makers and creative businesses. Open Studios offers a glimpse behind normally closed doors: see work in progress, discover how things are made and meet the people producing them. On Saturday 12 September, Excelsior also hosts two talks from the Manufactory programme: Russell Maliphant: On Light and Movement - 2–3.30pm Acclaimed choreographer Russell Maliphant discusses light, movement and their relationship within his practice. Lens Media and the Manufactory Image - 4–5.30pm Jermaine Francis, Taous Dahmani, Linn Phyllis Seeger and Charlotte Jansen come together to explore lens-based media and representations of industry, production and the Manufactory landscape.
