Futureproof: Sustainable by Design
Partner Programme
16 — 24 Sept 2023
Multi-Disciplinary Design, Education
Join MA Sustainable Design graduates exploring the impacts and implications of the climate emergency. From diverse global and professional perspectives comes a range of projects spanning all interpretations of the word design, and a week of workshops around their work.
As the gap between required and realised action grows wider, designs role as contributor or counter to the climate emergency places the creative fields under increasing scrutiny. Design as a field is now tasked with responding to complex social, economic and environmental problems, so how can we meaningfully engage in these global problems with relatively small, designed interventions? In an exhibition across design week accompanied by a series of public and professional workshops, the 22/23 cohort of MA sustainable design explore their diverse personal and professional perspectives to bring a range of projects, and potential futures, to life. Taking a constructive critical approach to sustainability, projects range across half a dozen disciplines exploring everything from food citizenship to climate responsive architecture, craft-tourism and new design methodologies. Throughout the week, there will be talks, workshops and more, with more information accessible through the Eventbrite link below: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/ma-sustainable-design-22-23-70934408233
