An Invitation to Explore Excelsior Studios

Partner Programme

24 — 26 Sept 2021

Excelsior Studios

17-19 Sunbeam Road

London

NW10 6JP

Excelsior Studios is home to a community of artists, makers and creatives. Built on a foundation of shared values and creativity, the studios are designed to encourage collaboration and celebrate connections between contemporary dance, fine art, graphic design, textile production, traditional craftsmanship and more.

Excelsior Studios will be opening its doors and inviting the public in to experience a host of events tailored especially for LDF21. The building will house the Utopia Exhibition, an exhibition curated by West London artists Jo Chate and Sarah Dwyer. Workshops will be run by Echo, a platform building an economy of hours, in collaboration with artists and makers, while resident creatives will hold open studios to showcase their practice and processes. The entrance of Excelsior will be home to a coffee cart serving hot drinks and pastries, run by Pathways, an organisation that works with young adults with learning difficulties to provide employment and business development support. The cart is a design collaboration between the architects of the building, OrsiniBrewin, and the young adults who will be manning the cart. The aim was to provide functional design that maximises accessibility and provides a formulaic blueprint where individuals to hone their skills in a space that can be replicated across future Pathways coffee shops.
