Rapha will be playing host to a Brutalist Architecture ride, a party with live music and art, a book launch and a sustainability themed panel talk, not to mention launching 20 cycling routes.
AVCT PRESENTS ARTISTRY IN TANDEM Tuesday 17 September, 6–10pm A party honouring how creativity and artistry have always been an essential part of Rapha's ethos and values. Two keen cyclists, Blankspace graphic artist Gavin Renshaw and musician Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) will use their skills to celebrate Rapha20. Renshaw, with a live art performance and Taylor, a DJ set – happening in tandem within the Past Forward exhibition space. A unique event curated by A Vibe Called Tech, and part of Shoreditch Design Triangle's Late-Night programme. RAPHA20: THE EXTRA MILE Wednesday 18 September, 6–9pm The launch evening of The Extra Mile; this new book from Rapha Editions charts the rise of Rapha and chronicles the most important stories and moments in our journey as a brand and company. Featuring Rapha’s founder, Simon Mottram and Rapha’s new CEO, Fran Millar and other contributors in conversation. RAPHA20: DESIGNING FOR A FUTURE PLANET Thursday 19 September, 6–9pm Looking forward to the next 20 years and how design can address sustainability topics across fashion, business practices, urban mobility and more. Bringing together a selection of panellists to share their perspectives on the topic, uniting on the theme of sustainability and cycling. Speakers including: Peter Murray OBE, Borre Akkersdijk (ByBorre), Thami Schweichler (United Repair Centre) and Adam Gardiner (Rapha) RAPHA20: NEW BRUTALISM RIDE Sunday 15 September, 10am Celebrating 20 years of Rapha with 20 London cycling routes. Join us on the opening weekend of the London Design Festival with a Brutalism architecture tour curated by Simon Phipps, the photographer behind the popular New Brutalism Instagram account and 'Brutal' book series. Meeting at 10am at the Rapha20 mural on Hanbury Street for a casual city ride around East London, visiting a handpicked selection of Brutalist buildings. Spaces are limited, booking essential. RAPHA20: ROUTES We’re celebrating 20 years with 20 cycling routes. From city rides to architecture tours and exploring the Shoreditch Design Triangle and London Design Festival, to famous Rapha rides around London and beyond. There will be organised group rides, but you can also download the routes to explore at your own pace. This series shows the glorious diversity of cycling and what’s possible on two wheels, all starting from a single point in the city.
