The first of a series of 'courtships' by contemporary design brand Sé celebrates the work of prestigious French textile house, Lelièvre Paris. The modern and historic align in a textile rich universe borne from a shared appreciation of captivating textures, timeless beauty and savoir-faire.

This evocative installation features Sé’s contemporary classics, including the Oshun Sofa by Ini Archibong, Stay Chairs by Nika Zupanc and Happiness Armchair by Damien Langlois-Meurinne all reimagined in Lelièvre Paris’s striking geometric and graphic fabrics. Having explored the voluminous fabric archive of Lelièvre Paris, Sé’s creative team selected fabrics and borders to adorn seven decorative panels that recall the architecture and interiors of the 17th century French court, forming a dramatic backdrop to Sé's furniture, juxtaposing modern and historic references and presenting both brands in a new light. Sé’s courtship with Lelièvre Paris was borne from a mutual and abiding reverence for artisanal craftsmanship. Lelièvre Paris is one of a few remaining European textile companies to have its own weaving mill and an unparalleled inventory of textiles and materials, dating back four centuries. Within the last 12 years Sé has established a reputation for making exquisite editions with the world’s finest designers, bringing new and playful attitudes to timeless forms that captivate the senses. This courtship is at once sensual and tactile and guests are invited to wander, gaze and touch.
