For LDF, Bill Amberg Studio will launch a new collection of sustainable wood and leather furniture for a new café at Knepp Estate, renowned for its ground-breaking rewilding project. Bill Amberg has created a range using raw materials sourced from the estate including ash wood, cattle and deer hide.
Bill Amberg Studio has collaborated with Knepp Estate, renowned for its ground-breaking rewilding project, to design and manufacture a sustainable furniture collection for its new café and farm shop at Knepp Estate, opening in Spring 2023. Knepp is a 3,500-acre estate in West Sussex which, since 2001, has been devoted to a pioneering rewilding project as beautifully characterised in the book ‘Wilding’ by co-owner Isabella Tree. The driving principle of the project is to establish a functioning ecosystem where nature is given as much freedom as possible. Uniquely, Bill Amberg Studio has designed a range of furniture using materials entirely sourced from the estate - leather produced from the longhorn cattle and deer free-roaming the rewilding project and tanned in the UK especially for the collection, and ash wood from the estate's dieback clearance. Therefore, in keeping with the sustainable ethos of the estate, waste and energy use are kept to a minimum. The collection will be officially launched at Bill Amberg Studio during London Design Festival 2022 and will be available to purchase.
