Worlds in Hands

This session moves at a different pace, slower, more precise, more attentive to the intelligence held in the hands and in the things they make. From Palestinian glass and archaeological resistance to the living craft traditions of the Arabian Peninsula and the politics of design authorship and collaboration, these are practitioners for whom making is a form of thinking and objects are a form of argument. In an age of infinite digital reproduction, this session insists on the irreplaceable weight of the material world.
