Ahmad Angawi

Ahmad Angawi is a Jeddah based artist, designer and educator whose interdisciplinary practice bridges art, design and craft. Renowned for reviving Mangour – a traditional Hijazi woodwork technique – he reinterprets heritage within a contemporary context.

Guided by the philosophy of Al Mizan (balance), he merges Islamic craft legacies with contemporary approaches. He founded Angawi Studio and Zawiya 97, and played a key role in establishing the House of Traditional Arts in Jeddah.

His work has been exhibited globally, including permanent Mangour screens at the British Museum in London and the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah.
