Mehmet Mehmetalioğlu

Mehmet Mehmetalioğlu is an Industrial and User Experience designer who creates meaningful connections between physical and digital products through a multidisciplinary and multicultural perspective. He completed Advanced Product Design Master studies at Umeå Institute of Design, shaping his approach within an international context. Influenced by the simplicity, functionality, and elegance of Scandinavian design, he has developed a distinctive design language by combining these principles with his own cultural background.
Throughout his career, he has worked with brands such as Volvo Cars, IKEA, and Whipsaw, contributing to projects across mobility, healthcare, and consumer electronics. His interdisciplinary practice extends beyond product design to systems, services, and experience design, focusing on intuitive, sustainable, and long-term value-driven solutions. At the core of his approach is a holistic understanding of user experience, integrating emotional, sensory, and intuitive layers. He defines this as “Sensible Experience Design”, combining data, emerging technologies, and traditional design knowledge to create human-centered solutions.
Mehmetalioğlu’s work has been internationally recognized with awards such as Red Dot, iF Design, and Core77. He is the first Turkish designer to receive the Braun Prize for his DTS 01 concept, which rethinks the relationship between user and technology through simplicity and accessibility. He continues to develop forward-looking projects that explore how design can enhance everyday life and create meaningful interactions.
