Blackhorse Workshop CIC (BHW) is a community-focused space for culture, making and creative skills development, located in the heart of the Blackhorse Lane Creative Enterprise Zone. Operating since 2014, BHW continues the rich industrial and creative heritage of the Upper Lee Valley by providing accessible, inclusive space for making and learning. We offer a unique, safe, noisy, and collaborative light-industrial workspace where creatives of all levels, from curious hobbyists to professional makers, work side by side. With a fully equipped open-access wood and metal workshop, turning centre, education studio, café, and event space, BHW is home to over 50 creative businesses. We deliver inclusive workshop access, a public course programme, a school’s programme with a specialism in SEND support, and an award-winning youth activism programme; making us a central cultural anchor for the creative community, with people travelling from across London to participate.
