ili architects (一里) is a London-based practice founded in 2024 by a group of architects and designers with international and cross-cultural backgrounds. The studio works between research and practice, across cultural, hospitality and residential projects. Across every scale of work, ili returns to the same enquiry: the relationship between material, place, and the people who live with them. On demolition sites, we have watched that relationship being dismantled, and the question becomes literal: when a building comes down, does anything of it remain? This exhibition narrows the question to reclaimed building material — to the value it holds beyond what current assessment frameworks are able to measure. Six Faces of a Brick marks the beginning of a long-term research project at ili architects.
