Ithra Palm Initiative

Ithra Palm Initiative

Ithra Palm Initiative explores the creative potential of the date palm through contemporary design, craftsmanship, research and international collaboration. The initiative brings together leading designers and local artisans to develop innovative works that celebrate Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage while positioning palm-based design on an international platform. The project spans collectible design, material innovation, residencies, exhibitions, and international exchange. The initiative is supported by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra), meaning "enrichment" in Arabic, built as part of Saudi Aramco’s vision to be a beacon of creativity and culture for the public. Ithra is one of the Kingdom’s leading cultural and creative destination for talent development and cross-cultural experiences. Since 2018, Ithra has been celebrating human potential and empowering creativity.
