Founded in 1962, the Kingston upon Thames Society is Kingston’s leading voluntary and independent charity dedicated to matters of planning and conservation. The Society is actively campaigning for the establishment of a Kingston Urban Room, a proposed collaborative community space in the town centre. This initiative aims to create an engaging environment where residents can learn about and participate in discussions on local planning and development. By promoting public involvement, the Urban Room concept seeks to foster greater understanding and dialogue around issues such as the Local Plan, sustainability, housing, and heritage, enabling more people to help shape the future of Kingston.
