
Yuxuan Hou is an independent digital product designer and builder based in Portland, Oregon. She designs and ships her own web experiences, tools and browser extensions, working end to end from concept and interface through to a working product. Her practice sits between product design and cultural storytelling. Recent projects include Half the Sky, a bilingual conversational experience with pioneering women from history, and Dance Dance Dance, an illustrated atlas of dances from around the world. She also releases open source design resources used by more than 2,600 designers in the Figma community. She holds an MFA in Interaction Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her work has been recognised by the iF Design Award, among others.
