With a design-centric ethos at the heart of its work, the Türkiye Design Council has been committed to fostering Türkiye’s socio-economic development and the growth of its design economy since 2016. Known locally as Türkiye Tasarim Vakfi and working across the breadth of urban development, it is committed to nurturing the next generation of designers in Türkiye through education and fostering skills. Its latest initiative is the masterplan and design-led rebuild of Hatay, one of the regions most affected by the February 2023 earthquake. It is collaborating with the world’s leading architects to revitalise the region and build Hatay’s next chapter. At the same time, it is creating a new model for international collaboration in the hope that it will be replicated for the recovery of disaster-struck cities around the world.
