Asif Khan MBE is the founder of Asif Khan Studio. His practice spans architecture, design, science and art. His work ranges from buildings and public spaces to exhibitions, objects, sound and film. Concerned with space, material, craft and meaning, he brings history and the future into dialogue with the present. His current projects include the New London Museum, the Barbican Centre renewal and the Museum of the Incense Road in AlUla. Recent work includes the newly opened Tselinny Centre for Contemporary Culture in Almaty. He also designed the V&A’s landmark Cartier exhibition (2025), the largest UK exhibition devoted to Cartier in three decades. He served on the Design Museum’s board for ten years, stepping down as Deputy Chairman in 2025. He received an MBE for services to architecture in 2017 and the FX award for outstanding contribution to design in 2024. He sees his projects as “bridges leading to a new world, and a new self.”
