Fergus Anderson

Fergus is an Associate Director in Buro Happold’s Sustainability and Climate Change team. He is an urbanist and sustainability professional with over ten years’ experience, motivated by working collaboratively and at scale on the intersections of cities, climate change, health and equity. Over the course of his career he has worked across scales from buildings and masterplans, to city and regional strategies. Of late he has been leading the practices city climate action planning work and has supported over 60 cities internationally with unlocking ambitious decarbonisation and adaptation actions. Recently he led the delivery of the Hackney’s Climate Action Plan and the team behind the City of London Corporations adaptive pathways strategy. Within the practice he co-leads Urban C:lab; a research led initiative that explores emergent disruption in the built environment.
