Joycelyn Longdon

Joycelyn is an environmental justice advocate and academic. Her doctoral research asks how co-designed technologies can act as a mediator, or boundary object, between formal conservation and local forest communities to enable just, collaborative and participatory ecoacoustic biodiversity research. This research is informed by theories of Conservation Data Justice, follows methodologies of Participatory Design and sits within the technical fields of Visual Analytics and Sustainable HCI. Joycelyn is also the founder of ClimateInColour, an online, graphic design-led, education platform and community for the climate curious, making critical conversations more accessible, diverse and hopeful.
