Natalie Melton

Natalie Melton is Executive Director of the Crafts Council, leading its strategic direction, partnerships and advocacy for the UK craft sector, supporting makers at every career stage while widening public access to craft. She oversees a portfolio connecting audiences, makers and industry: the Crafts Council reaches over 500,000 people digitally each year, supports a membership of more than 2,500, and plays a central role in shaping Collect, the international art fair for contemporary craft and design at Somerset House, drawing over 12,000 visitors annually. Before joining the Crafts Council in 2019, Natalie co-founded The New Craftsmen, developing collaborations that brought craft into dialogue with global brands, including Burberry Makers House. She sits on the Creative Industries Council and Creative Trade Forum, is a trustee of People United, and participates in a wide range of advisory and judging roles.
