Sandy Powell

Sandy Powell studied at London’s Central School of Art and began her career in film collaborating with Derek Jarman on Caravaggio. In 2010, Sandy was given the Costume Designers Guild Career Achievement Award and in 2011 was awarded an OBE for her services to the film industry. Sandy has won three Academy Awards for Jean-Marc Vallée’s The Young Victoria, Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator and John Madden’s Shakespeare in Love, and has twelve other nominations. She has received three BAFTA Awards for Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favourite, The Young Victoria and Todd Haynes’s Velvet Goldmine, and has thirteen other nominations. Recent credits include Julie Taymor’s The Glorias, Oliver Hermanus's Living and she has recently completed Disney’s Snow White with Marc Webb.
