Sofia Boarino is an architect, researcher and sound artist whose practice explores how sound, light and space shape perception, bodily experience and environmental awareness. Working across architecture, art and research, she investigates space as a multisensory and embodied experience, with particular interests in psychoacoustics, neuroarchitecture and neuroaesthetics. Through immersive environments, installations and sonic works, she explores sound and light as spatial media and their capacity to transform our relationship with the built environment. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, Bauhaus Dessau and with the MADWORKSHOP Foundation in Los Angeles, and she has performed sound-based works internationally at Zurich Design Weeks and Milan Design Week. Her work has been featured in publications including FRAME, e-flux, Espazium, Il Giornale dell’Arte and ELLE Decor.
