Stephen Dobbie creates projects involving immersive storytelling that challenge conventional forms of interacting with art and music. A key member of the Punchdrunk creative team since 2002, he helped pioneer immersive theatre with shows including Sleep No More (London, Boston, NYC, Shanghai, Seoul) and served as Sound Designer on The Burnt City, which ran in London for 18 months from 2022. He co-created Beyond the Road with Colin Nightingale and James Lavelle (UNKLE), a multi-sensory installation merging visual arts, music and film, premiering at Saatchi Gallery London in 2019 and at The Hyundai Seoul in 2021. He then established A Right/Left Project with Nightingale, premiering The Retiring Room at The Standard, London in 2023, followed by ORIGIN at London Design Festival 2024, now in residency at Dunham Massey since May 2025. Stephen also composes sound for exhibitions including Forever-Valentino in Doha and Swarovski's Masters of Light at MoCA Shanghai.
