The design of iconic tables, starting a creative business at the kitchen table, the wonders of the working table and exploring designing for digestion; Informare invites you to take a seat at the table and share your thoughts and opinions on key topics associated with the Table, the most trustworthy piece of furniture.
Join a series of established designers and industry experts as they delve into four different discussions throughout the day. With short, snappy sessions, attendees will be able to hop on and off the round table as and when they have something to share. So, join us for Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Wine throughout the day! Session 1: 8.30-10.30 The Design of Iconic Tables Join a collection of designers to take a closer look at the table and how it has evolved through time. The table is versatile, the perfect blend of form and function, but has it been left unexplored? What more can we do with the table? Session 2: 11.00-12.00 The Kitchen Table Ideation doesn’t always start in the office; it often starts at the kitchen table. Join a series of creative business founders as they discuss how they started and built their businesses. Chaired by our very own Founder and CEO Anna King, the discussion will explore the different ways of growing your creative business. Session 3: 3.30-5.30 The Working Table The table can be used for a variety of purposes, from table tennis tables to operating tables to screen printing tables. Join professionals from across a wide range of industries to discuss what makes their table special and what we can learn from them when it comes to the design of the office desk. Session 4: 6.00-7.00 Dining and Culture The final session will discuss the Dining table as one of the oldest and most honoured traditions of humanity; addressing how the table is designed for familial dining, how solo dining is now being embraced in design despite this, and what we can learn from the design of dining in a variety of cultures.
