For the first time from the collection of Andipa and in collaboration with the London Design Festival five of the most important living British artists will be on display together. From its Knightsbridge townhouse and home for over 55 years, this distinguished art gallery will pay tribute to these seminal artists whose output has influenced British art and design for the last 30 years. Andipa’s collection of paintings, sculptures, tapestry and works on paper form the exhibition that showcases the Best in British art. Inspired by the fashionable Brompton Design District and the London Design Festival, the iconic works in the exhibition have been curated for their beauty and importance within British contemporary art. Owner and Director, Acoris Andipa says, “Great art and great design go hand-in-hand, and the two worlds are always in communication, influencing and shaping one another. Through our new exhibition we seek to further bridge the gap between art and design whilst paying homage to five major artists whose work has been displayed in museums & cities across the globe - flying the flag for Britain. We are delighted to open part of our collection to LDF and encourage conversations around how art and design bring such joy to our lives, whilst asking all important questions about our time and society.” To celebrate Design, an entire floor hosts two exciting textile and rug designers, Melodi Horne & Silk Avenue Rugs, launching their much anticipated collaboration: British Style: "At home with Bold Art". Andipa continues its open-door policy to the public reflecting its firm belief that fine art must be accessible to all. Artworks in the collection are for sale and range from a few thousands pounds to multi-million. All are welcome to come and view this rare exhibition within a warm and friendly environment. As part of the Brompton Design District Open Night on Thursday, 22 September, there will be an exciting evening of discussion. The Director of Andipa, Acoris Andipa will be giving a personal tour of the exhibition at 6.30pm. This is followed by a conversation in Design presented by Emilio Pimentel-Reid, author of 'Bold British Design' at 7pm.
