Chronicles of Silence is an online exhibition by architect Hengmo Hu, showcasing projects from 2015–2025. Through architectural photography, digital installations, and conceptual pavilions, the exhibition explores memory, identity, and spatial narratives across cultures.
Chronicles of Silence: Architectural Works 2015–2025 is a curated online exhibition presented as part of London Design Festival 2025. Bringing together ten years of creative work, the exhibition invites a global audience to experience a body of projects that span architectural photography, conceptual pavilion design, and AI-assisted spatial narratives. The featured works include The Age of Silence, an exploration of spatial stillness and cultural memory; Senegal Dance Pavilion, a vibrant interpretation of movement and performance space; and Ghost Data Temple, a speculative design investigating the intersection of architecture and digital ephemerality. Alongside these, the exhibition presents a selection of additional projects from 2015–2025—ranging from experimental pavilions to conceptual architectural illustrations—each offering a distinct perspective on form, materiality, and narrative. Together, they form a cohesive investigation into how architecture can embody emotion and time. As a digital-first experience, the exhibition is hosted on hengmo.design and accessible worldwide throughout the Festival. Visitors will encounter high-resolution imagery, conceptual diagrams, and narrative texts for each project. On 15 September 2025 at 7:00 PM BST, the artist will host a live online talk and Q&A session, offering insights into the creative process, technical workflows, and conceptual frameworks behind the works. This event aims to bridge geographical distance through design, offering an open space for dialogue among architects, designers, and cultural audiences. By embracing the possibilities of an online format, Chronicles of Silence underscores the idea that architecture’s capacity to inspire and connect transcends physical boundaries. Presented within the context of London Design Festival, the exhibition aligns with the Festival’s mission to celebrate and promote design excellence on a global stage. The combination of architectural rigor, conceptual depth, and cross-cultural perspectives ensures that this body of work resonates with both professional and general audiences, making it a meaningful contribution to the international design conversation.
