The David Nott Foundation will open its doors to the public for Designed for Humanity, a creative showcase exploring how design underpins their humanitarian mission to deliver safe, skilled surgical care in areas of conflict and catastrophe.
Photography and storytelling are central to our mission, inviting audiences to connect with the extraordinary people behind the statistics: the patients, surgeons and communities at the heart of our work. By making space for their stories, we deepen understanding and spark action. Our visual identity has been carefully crafted to build trust and broaden our reach, ensuring that we continue to transform lives for years to come. “It’s not about the scalpel or the surgery. It’s about the humanity.” – Professor David Nott, Co-Founder Since 2015, our world-class faculty have trained 2,337 doctors across 18 countries including Syria, Ukraine and Palestine. Working in partnership with trusted bodies such as the World Health Organisation, we deliver surgical training where it's needed most, strengthening local healthcare systems and saving lives in the world's most challenging environments. Our creative showcase will include a brand and photography exhibition that tells the story of our work in conflict and catastrophe. We will also preview our latest innovations in surgical education; the life saving training tools we use to prepare doctors for the frontline. Our bright and welcoming space will be open throughout the festival week (Monday to Friday), with staff on hand to greet guests and offer insights into the relationship between design, education and humanitarian response.
