Studio Walsh will transform Hackney Bus Depot into a celebration of life’s simple pleasures for the unveiling of its Culaccino Collection. This range of mouth blown glassware, which includes wine glasses and carafes, will be paired with a live edible food installation by chef and Empty Plates Podcast host, Anjli Vyas.
This range of unique tableware pieces has been designed to infuse everyday experiences with a feeling of joy and luxury. Drawing inspiration from the worlds of architecture, art, travel and food to bring delight to the simplest moments in life. ‘Culaccino’, the collection’s namesake, is the Italian word to describe the ring-shaped mark left on a table by a cold wet glass – literally translates as ‘little bottom’. Each item has a curved, hollow base which acts as a pedestal upon which the pieces are presented. This elevates everyday objects such as wine glasses and tumblers into sculptural art pieces. Every piece is handmade and mouth blown using a centuries-old technique, having been designed and prototyped in Brooklyn and produced in the Czech Republic. The Culaccino Collection includes brightly-hued glassware including wine glasses, tumblers, cocktail glasses, a carafe and an oversized vase. RSVP required for event. Studio visits can be arranged by appointment throughout London Design Festival. Please contact us for more information.
