The Dagmar x Carl Malmsten capsule, developed in conjunction with O.H. Sjögren as part of our Classic Collection, features new editions of the iconic Samspel sofa with its distinctive heart-shaped back, and the elegant Cirkus chair, back in production for the first time in more than 50 years.

Dagmar is proud to welcome Swedish icon Carl Malmsten to our Classic Collection stable, with a capsule of four upholstered pieces from the 1950s-60s. This exclusive collection from Sweden’s world renowned designer-craftsman is handmade by 4th generation furniture makers O.H. Sjögren in Tranås, Sweden. The Sjögren family have been producing Malmsten furniture for more than 70 years, since they were invited to become part of a group of workshops known as the Nyckelbröder (the Key Brothers). This exclusive group of workshops, situated in the Småland region of Sweden, were recognised as the finest craftsmen in the country. Each year Malmsten would travel to Tranås to work closely with factory owner Olle Sjögren, developing new pieces for production. Further highlights from our Classic Collection will also be on display including new editions of Arnold Madsen’s Clam Chair from 1944 and Kai Kristiansen Entre Collection from 1956. Completely the exhibition, is a selection of rare, original pieces from our extensive Vintage Collection from genre-defining designers such as Hans Wegner, Finn Juhl and Ib Kofod-Larsen. This is a unique opportunity to experience some of the finest designs created during the golden era of Scandinavian Modern design together in London.
