Journalist and design expert Roddy Clarke will be the host of Design Discussions and has co-curated the agenda alongside the Design London Shoreditch team. Visitors can expect inspiring conversations, fresh perspectives, and bold ideas at the heart of Shoreditch’s creative scene.

As part of Design London's return to London Design Festival 2025, an exciting roster of creative conversations and events will be taking place within the House of ICON. Located in Shoreditch Town Hall, with a talks space designed by 2LG Studio, Design Discussions wants to foster community and connection in a world that needs it more than ever. Alongside panel talks, there will be daily roundtable sessions, a game show and a chance to share poetry through spoken word. In creating an open and accessible schedule, the programme offers a platform to a diverse range of voices, showcasing the breadth and depth of talent and how design can be a positive force for change. "Today we need connection and community more than ever and this has driven my approach to curating the talks programme for Design London Shoreditch. I want it to be an open and inclusive space where everyone feels their voice can be heard, especially young, emerging talent, who might not have the confidence to share their creative views or have access to certain rooms and conversations. In bringing the creative community together, hopefully it can spark meaningful debate and discussion while connecting established studios with fresh talent that could even lead to future collaboration. We need to be more democratic in design and I hope the format of some of the scheduled roundtable discussions and events can help to encourage this while creating a sense of optimism through design as a positive force for change." - Roddy Clarke, Host and Co-Curator of Design Discussions.
