Design for Better 2.0 - Product Launch

Re_Threads was born during the depths of the pandemic. Against all odds, we are making our mission ‘to realise untapped potential’ a reality by turning profit into purpose and building a legacy. We are on a mission to create a movement that supports craft, cares for our fellow humans and invests in the future of our planet - so that some of our most vulnerable in society and future generations can thrive. We do this by creating opportunities for young people that are care experienced, helping them to gain meaningful work experience within our business, whilst also giving a minimum 20% of our profits to our partner charity, Rise Futures. Our garments follow the principles of slow fashion and are designed, crafted and created with the whole lifecycle in mind. We believe everything can have a second life. So, we offer free repairs on all our garments, which we will be championing during the event by hosting a drop-in repair shop. We will also be holding a community space for talks around social value and sustainability, immersive workshops and a Re_Threads pop-up shop showing that workwear can be made, bought and worn with pride. Because it is workwear beyond function and form. We have a singular and binding belief that we can - and will - do good and we have set sail on our mission of changing lives, whilst making workwear sustainable. Re_Threads is more than a brand, we are building a legacy and creating our cape of kindness whilst we do it. Leather Purse Workshop Come and enjoy a workshop making your own coin purse, by decorating and customising the full pattern piece and then sewing it together to create a finished product. The course is led by textile designer Jane de Bono as part of the Re_Threads X The Future Collective 'Design for Better' pop-up. All proceeds go to Rise Futures charity. From cutting the pattern yourself, creating surface embellishments of your choice, and understanding the making of it to completion. The course is led by fashion designer Liz McGreevy as part of the Re_Threads X The Future Collective 'Design for Better' pop-up.
