Join DRK Lighting at their Shoreditch showroom to explore its lighting remanufacturing capabilities. Learn how the industry can become more sustainable by extending product life cycles, upgrading light fittings in situ and integrating lighting controls.
DRK Lighting champions extending product life cycles with remanufacturing, upgrading light fittings in situ and integrating state-of-the-art lighting controls to optimise energy use, reducing consumption and lowering energy costs. This preserves resources, reduces waste, and minimises environmental impact. Recently, DRK Lighting has worked on one of its largest commercial upgrades, replacing 5000 fittings and installing lighting controls for a well-known corporation in Greater London. This site now holds the record for pioneering the use of Bluetooth lighting controls, boasting the most extensive showcase of Bluetooth HubSense technology at a single site. Additionally, in 2021, we completed a remanufacturing project for the Woolwich Royal Arsenal, this project involved 18 fittings initially designed with 100W GLS lamps, which were in poor condition, featuring broken glass and rusted components. We replaced these outdated lamps with 10W COB chips, drastically reducing energy consumption while maintaining the same light output. This upgrade not only provided superior lighting but also significantly lowered the client’s energy costs. Our remanufacturing process involves refurbishing old and damaged light fittings and restoring them to optimal functionality using advanced lighting restoration techniques. This method reduces waste and carbon emissions, contributing to environmental sustainability while offering clients cost savings through decreased energy usage. The Woolwich Royal Arsenal project exemplifies DRK Lighting’s dedication to carbon-neutral lighting solutions. By remanufacturing the fittings, we provided enhanced lighting quality and helped the client reduce their carbon footprint, reinforcing our position as leaders in sustainable lighting practices. As one of the UK's major lighting Remanufacturers, we encourage conversions, retrofit lighting and modular lighting designs to lead the charge towards a sustainable future, benefiting not only our clients and end users but also our precious planet.
