Sake, Garden, Kimono, Embroidery. Experience Japanese philosophy through four essential arts of daily life. This exhibition brings authentic traditions from Akita Prefecture - a region in northern Japan renowned for its craftsmanship - directly to London.
Discover how Japanese sake brewing, garden design, kimono wearing, and traditional embroidery form an interconnected approach to mindful living. The exhibition features master practitioners from Kuribayashi Sake Brewing Co, Takahashi Garden Planning and Maintenance, Homare LLC, Embroidered Ball, and ANJI collection, working alongside England-based collaborators Mark Brazier-Jones and Catherine-Marie Longtin. The exhibition takes place at White Conduit Project in Angel, a space that embodies this cultural bridge - established through the vision of Kyoko Wainai, Creative Director of Life Laboratory TOHOKU.
