To mark fifteen years of visionary, contemporary design, New Zealand furniture and lighting brand Resident will present In Living Colour, an immersive two-month residency in London that reimagines the traditional showroom as an experiential place of calm, curiosity and connection. Opening on 3 September 2026 and showing throughout the London Design Festival, In Living Colour is a sensorial celebration of the brand’s vitality. Occupying an expansive 800-square-metre, light-filled space at 4 Pentonville Road, it will offer the most comprehensive presentation of Resident's furniture and lighting in the company's history. In Living Colour will also mark the UK debut of Resident's latest collections, including Plane, Little Fellas, Cadre, Avant, Radio, Drift and Vent. Presented alongside many of the brand's defining designs, the installation offers a holistic view of Resident's evolving design language and its continued commitment to enduring, purposeful objects. Conceived as a sensorial reset amid the intensity of London's design calendar, the residency invites visitors to slow down and experience design at a more considered pace. Bathed in natural light and free from visual clutter, translucent partitions in bright hues frame each collection, giving each piece the space to breathe, and allowing form, materiality and craftsmanship to be appreciated without distraction. Living is the operative word. Rather than presenting products as static displays, In Living Colour encourages genuine interaction. Visitors are invited to sit, touch, move through and live with the collection, experiencing first-hand the comfort, tactility and quiet confidence that defines Resident's unique and recognisable design language. At its heart, the residency reflects Resident's enduring belief that great design shapes how we feel. Through thoughtful composition, refined material palettes and moments of stillness, In Living Colour explores how contemporary design can elevate everyday life while fostering a deeper connection between people and the spaces they inhabit.
