In The Making is an exhibition within the Material Matters fair, curated by tp bennett and Future Works, the innovation partner of The Furniture Practice featuring leading manufactures across design and architecture.
Leading architecture, design, strategy, and sustainability practice tp bennett returns to Material Matters London with a compelling new exhibition, In The Making 2.0. Hosted at the iconic Space House in central London and curated in partnership with international furniture specialists The Furniture Practice, the showcase invites visitors to reflect on the environmental impact of design and the evolving role of materials in shaping a more responsible future. Material Matters is the only dedicated trade fair within the London Design Festival, a platform that champions material intelligence, innovation, and sustainability. Taking place from 17–20 September 2025, this year’s edition occupies an entire floor of Space House, a Grade II-listed Brutalist landmark. Its central location provides a fitting setting for uniting designers, manufacturers, and thought leaders to discuss the future of making. Building on the success of last year’s edition, In The Making 2.0 interrogates the true cost of creation—from raw material extraction through manufacturing, installation, and maintenance. The exhibition is organised around three elemental zones: Land, Water, and Atmosphere. This tripartite framework offers a powerful thematic lens for examining material impact and underscores tp bennett’s commitment to sustainable, considered design. Featured manufacturers include Tarkett, Impact Acoustics, Kvadrat, Andreu World, Domus, Arper and Modus.
