For the debut of 14p purple, Bocci is collaborating with British designer Bethan Laura Wood on Labyrinth Dreams, an installation exploring colour, light, memory and association.

The project began with Wood’s first encounter with the purple 14p, which immediately brought to mind David Bowie in Labyrinth. She nicknamed the light the “Bowie Ball,” an association that became the starting point for a sculptural landscape of colourful forms and playful arrangements of the 14p. Wood developed a system of softly finished structures designed to interact with the light’s distinctive colour and texture. Hand-cast in neodymium glass, the Purple 14p shifts in appearance according to its surroundings, moving between lilac, pink, blue and smoky tones. Within the installation, these changes in colour and reflected light create an environment that is continually in flux.
