It’s a local collective's latest exhibition, Lingerings, explores the poetics of sensory landscape and the resonance of material memory through four innovative, material-led practices—where lingering is both method and metaphor.

Exhibition: Lingerings explores how materials in art can act as a second skin, a progressive narrative, or a vessel of memory. Yu Mei Huang investigates the psychoanalytic relationship between materials and the body; Alexandra Yan Wong, formerly a linguist of German literature and philosophy, draws upon syntax to engage with stain, paper, textile, and wood; Tom Collison folds paper to frame space within each sheet; and Ayumi Kajiwara weaves discarded fragments into garments of collective memory. [Private View: Saturday 13 September, 3–5pm — RSVP required] Open House: Craft Workshops, Food Tastings & Makers’ Showcase Coinciding with ESEA Heritage Month, our Open House celebrates the creativity of ESEA makers alongside the exhibition. Join us for Chinese Knot Workshop, Bamboo Coaster Weaving, and Chinese Calligraphy; explore Asian crafts carefully sourced by atelier UMUM Objects; and enjoy tastings with Onigiri Kome and HEYTEA — all accompanied by an intimate viewing of the art. [Open House: Saturday 20 September, 1–6pm — £5 pp, booking required] To attend our events, please book via our website. Lingerings is supported by HEYTEA.
