Showcasing some of Southwark’s best design talent with a series of pop-up retail, workshop & interactive experiences in our ground floor space. These are ticket-free events for anyone to visit - soundtracked, fuelled & supported by our great cast of restauranteurs, DJs, fashion curators, cocktail makers & more.
We are a public market, so there's shopping of course, but also bars and restaurants, music and events, beauty and fitness, and a workspace full of creators and curators. We're full of local and independent people and businesses, open to all and free to explore day and night. One of our key missions is to create high quality shopfronts for local traders from a whole range of industries, and a platform which they might not otherwise be able to find in their own neighbourhood. This September we’re continuing this mission by showcasing some of Southwark’s best and brightest design talent with Local Makers at Market – a series of pop-up retail, workshop and interactive experiences in our ground floor space. These will be ticket-free events for anyone to visit, and will be soundtracked, fuelled and supported by our amazing cast of restauranteurs, DJs, fashion and furniture curators, cocktail makers and more. The makers taking part include Aff & Jam, Neesh Home, Body Talk, Communal Clay, Nice & Graphic, Valeria Romeo, Miranda Charlotte and Dorota Bojanowska. We would love to invite people to come and see how the space evolves throughout the Festival, and to join us at Jazu’s Hi-Fi cocktail bar front and centre in our ground floor on Thursday 21st September to celebrate the Southwark Design District.
