Don McCollin and Maureen Bryan set up McCollin Bryan in 1998. In the production of furniture and objects, their approach is strongly driven by the materials they work with and a mutual need to be active in the craft of making. They are inspired in their creation of design which intrigues and surprises the viewer.
Into The Blue:
In contrast to the mass production of contemporary design, our studio and practice has handmade at its core and key to our working practice is the process of experimentation and the development of evocative visual concepts.
For LDF 2025, McCollin Bryan present a reconnection with a portfolio of stunning Nigerian indigo Adire textiles (https://www.appioafricanfabrics.com) in which we will explore qualities and characteristics of the colour blue & of pattern, resonating both culturally and aesthetically with us.
