Miffy at Bankside

The lobby and OXBO restaurant at Hilton London Bankside are transformed into an immersive design experience, bringing the world of Miffy to life through carefully curated artworks and installations. Guests are invited to explore, interact with and photograph the displays, creating memorable moments that celebrate both art and design. Visitors can discover: Original Dick Bruna silkscreens: Three limited-edition works are on display. Miffy Cutting (2001) reflects the influence of Henri Matisse and his cut-out technique, while Miffy with Stars (2002) draws on Fernand Léger’s approach to colour and line separation, showing how simplicity can convey depth. Boris and the Umbrella (2000) introduces Miffy’s wider circle of friends, including Boris Bear, demonstrating Bruna’s playful storytelling and character design. Miffy XXL lamp: Standing 6 ft tall, this striking lamp is made from durable, recyclable polyethylene and fitted with an energy-efficient LED module. Guests can experience the lamp up close, appreciating its scale, design, and ambient glow. Miffy plush wall: Featuring 400 mini Miffys, this colourful installation provides a vibrant backdrop for photography and social media. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the wall and capture their own memorable moments. Miffy first appeared in 1955, inspired by Bruna’s childhood experiences and love of rabbits, and has since become a global design icon. Bruna’s bold use of line, shape, and colour continues to influence artists, illustrators, and designers worldwide.
