This project is one of many attempts to engage with the era of diversity and to make urban spaces and architecture more inclusive. To wit, Omori proposes making prayer rooms more accessible in society by turning them into products and treating them as mobile huts.
1. Urban Spaces and Architecture in the Era of Diversity The world is becoming more diverse than ever, and living together with various people is becoming the norm. In such an era, specific-purpose buildings and cities may not be able to address all needs. 2. Between Architecture and Furniture Architecture that resembles furniture, and furniture that resembles architecture, could be one means of intervening in intolerant urban spaces and architecture. 3. Space for Prayer For people of faith, prayer is important. However, it is hard to say that there are enough spaces available for this purpose. I intend to create a more accessible space while maintaining the dignity of prayer. 4. Module Japan has a unique traditional module system known as "Shakkanho." Even today, many materials are still produced based on this module. In this project, I aim to reduce production costs and achieve mass production in Japan by structuring spaces based on the most common Japanese module, "3 shaku x 6 shaku" (approximately 90.9 cm x 181.8 cm).
