Studio Wernacular seeks to explore: 1. How digital design can translate the uniqueness of a space? 2. How furniture can become a continuation of memory and a companion in migration? 3. How “dwelling” can retain a sense of personal belonging in today's globally mobile world?
At this year's London Design Festival, Wernacular presented furniture pieces crafted for Baihe Village in Beijing. Our design philosophy stems from “nomadic impressions.” Through digital design methods and construction techniques, we deconstruct and reconstruct the spatial impressions of a dwelling, reflecting them into furniture. These pieces are not merely functional objects but vessels for memories. As living environments evolve, the furniture “nomads” alongside them, carrying traces of past lives and becoming emotional bridges between people and spaces. Join us on Bedford Square, right outside the AA School’s main entrance, where our pop-ups will be set along the pavement. Stop by for a closer look, spark a conversation, and perhaps discover new friendships and collaborations! Team Member: Yaowen Zhang Michaelia (Jingwen) Zheng Bowen Tan Christopher(Hanxiang) Tao
